Lake Dunstan and Rotorua Lakes weed spraying

The application of diquat gel to Lake Dunstan and Rotorua Lakes is scheduled for Wednesday, 9 November, dependent on weather and lake conditions.

If application is not possible on Wednesday, 9 November, it will take place on subsequent days. Application will not take place on weekends or public holidays.

As a precautionary measure only, LINZ advises users not swim, take drinking water or irrigation water from the vicinity of the treatment sites until 24 hours after treatment.

Treatment sites of Rotorua lakes are:

Lake Rotoiti - Hauparu Bay, Gisborne Point, Kakaho Bay, Te Ti (Leary's ) Bay, Otaramarae, Hinehopu Boat Ramp

Lake Tarawera - Boatshed Bay, The Landing, Stoney Point, Humphries Bay

Lake Rerewhakaaitu - Homestead Arm

Lake Okataina - Boat Ramp
