Summary

This standard is effective from 20 April 2012. 

This standard defines the criteria that the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa will use when reviewing and concurring with proposals from the Department of Conservation to assign or alter official Crown protected area names. 

All proposals to assign or alter Crown protected area names should be in accordance with this interim standard.

Please note this document replaces NZGBS60001 Standard for Crown protected area names published on 10 August 2011.
