Office of the Chief Executive

A number of powers and duties are delegated to the Chief Executive under the legislation LINZ administers and by the Minister for Land Information.
Land Information New Zealand's Chief Executive is Colin MacDonald (pictured). Colin joined LINZ in July 2008.
Colin leads LINZ in delivering strategic priorities that support the growth of New Zealand’s economy, including maintaining a world class property transactions system, increasing the productive use of geospatial information, and enabling the appropriate use of Crown-owned Land.
Colin has more than 30 years experience in information technology and general management in both New Zealand and UK and was previously Chief Operating Officer for the ANZ Banking Group (NZ).
From November 2001 to June 2008 he was Deputy Commissioner Business Development and Systems at Inland Revenue.
