The Strategic Development and Support Group helps with strategic and business planning and provides a wide range of support services for LINZ. It also provides leadership to the New Zealand Geospatial Strategy via the New Zealand Geospatial Office.

Strategy & Planning
The Strategy and Planning team supports the business with planning, reporting, risk and research. They ensure business activities align with LINZ’s Statement of Intent.
Finance, Facilities, and Procurement
Finance, Facilities and Procurement provides proactive financial and procurement advice and solutions. They work with LINZ’s business areas to lift the department’s financial performance, and support its strategic priorities and essential business operations.
Human Resources
The Human Resources team supports LINZ performance and culture by ensuring LINZ attracts, develops, and retains skilled and engaged people.

Knowledge Management
Knowledge Management provides LINZ staff with tools and advice for creating, capturing and sharing knowledge across the department. They’re also responsible for coordinating information between LINZ and the Minister for Land Information’s Office.
Strategic Communications and Web Services
The Strategic Communications and Web Services team manages LINZ's communications, engagement advice, and stakeholder relations. They are the first point of contact for media relations, (read LINZ's news and notices), produce corporate publications, and manage LINZ’s web services and other channels.
Business & Regulatory Assurance
Business and Regulatory Assurance (BARA) provides LINZ’s Senior Leadership team and regulators with independent assurance and information about LINZ customers and the department’s performance, efficiency, compliance with regulations and corporate governance processes. They also provide advice to LINZ’s business areas and LINZ customers to support their good governance practices.
New Zealand Geospatial Office
The New Zealand Geospatial Office leads New Zealand’s Geospatial Strategy, which aims to make geospatial, or location-based, information freely available and accessible. This information supports a wide range of uses, from helping emergency services to find the injured, through to developing key infrastructure and providing health services. In other words, it supports the safety and security of New Zealand, our economy and our culture and environment.
