Welcome to the Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) Mariners homepage. This page is managed by LINZ Hydrographic Services, the authoritative provider of New Zealand Hydrographic Services and the main source of LINZ Hydrographic information for you as a mariner.

LINZ Hydrographic Services is responsible for:

• charting New Zealand waters for the purpose of Safety of Life at Sea
• providing international standard Hydrographic Services
• production of nautical charts
• provision of nautical publications
• provision of tidal information

Scientific information (seismic, magnetic, geological) can be obtained from the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences (GNS) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MED).

Hydrographic regulatory and standards information is provided by the National Topographic/Hydrographic Authority within LINZ.
