The Hydrographic User Group (HUG) was established to provide the New Zealand maritime community with a forum for the exchange of information on official hydrographic products and services.

LINZ liaises with the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) in the production of bathymetric data and hydrographic activities in Antarctica.
