These rules are made under authority of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002. Version 2002/2 of the rules supersede version 2002/1 (1 June 2002) which incorporated (and superseded) the Survey Regulations 1998 plus Sections 57, 58 and 60 of the Survey Act 1986. The main changes in version 2002/2 make provision for digital lodgement of cadastral survey datasets into Landonline. The changes are explained in more detail in the document SG Rules 2002-2 Changes (pdf 67KB). Surveys commenced under the Survey Regulations 1998 that were pending or in progress on the commencement of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002 (1 June 2002) may be continued, dealt with, and completed under those regulations as if they had not been revoked. Similarly surveys commenced under the Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/1 prior to version 2002/2 of the rules coming into effect, 29 October 2002, may be continued, dealt with, and completed under those rules. A copy of the superseded Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/1 (1 June 2002) can be downloaded (pdf 248kb). The main provisions of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002 are outlined in the Surveyor-General's Letter to all Registered Surveyors (29 May, 5 pages, 112KB). To read the PDF (Portable Document Format) files you will need a copy of the free Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 4 or later). |
