Access Crown Land for Pest Control
You must apply to LINZ for permission to enter LINZ-administered Crown land.
Your application must be received by LINZ's biosecurity service provider
at least 30 working days prior to the proposed access date.
How to apply
To apply, download and complete the following forms along with the items listed below and post to the service provedier:
- Entry onto Crown Land: Application Form (pdf 19KB)
- Entry onto Crown Land: Deed of Indemnity (pdf 27KB)
Items to include in your application
Include the following:
- An application form
- A clear map of the area where you plan to enter
- A health and safety management plan which identifies the risks to the public and methods to prevent or minimise these
- Details of:
- your proposed pest control methods
- equipment
- operation dates
- timeframes
- number of staff involved
- Copies of any consents, permits, certificates of compliance, and conditions that you have to comply with
- Details of how the properties will be cleared of unused pest control materials
- Details of the proposed type of vehicles and transport to be used on the properties
- A letter from you to say that you accept the terms and conditions of the deed of indemnity.
Note: Your application may be delayed or rejected if you do not send in all the above items to the biosecurity service provider.

Application process
The service provider will check your application then forward it to LINZ with a recommendation to either grant or reject your application.
LINZ will then consider your application.
You will be advised of the decision by letter along with any relevant documents and a copy of the deed of indemnity.
