Hakataramea River Rabbit Control Operation

Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) advises that hand laying of carrot baits containing Sodium fluoroacetate (1080) will occur in the Hakataramea River between 16 June and 9 July 2008.
Description of area:
The area being treated involves up to 180 ha of Crown-administered riverbed between Wrights Crossing in the northeast and Hatcheries Road in the south.
Please note that hand laying of the toxic baits will be preceded by application of non-toxic baits to ensure against bait shyness. Toxic carrot baits will be dyed green.
This pesticide is poisonous to humans and domestic animals. The area is to be treated with caution until 9 January 2009.

- DO NOT bring dogs into the area
