Lakeweed Spray Notice, Lake Benmore

Recreational and other users of Lake Benmore are advised that the herbicide diquat, in gel form, will be used to control lakeweed in the Ahuriri River delta on either Thursday 8 February or Friday 9 February if weather and water conditions permit.

As a precautionary measure, users are advised not to take drinking or irrigation water from the vicinity of the treatment sites until 24 hours after treatment.

Warning signs will be placed at each treatment area before the herbicide is applied. These signs will be removed 24 hours after treatment.
