Public submissions are being sought on the Preliminary Proposal for the Glentanner Pastoral Lease tenure review. Submissions close 5pm, Friday 12 March 2010.

Notice is given under Section 43 of the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 by the Commissioner of Crown Lands that he has put a Preliminary Proposal for tenure review to Glentanner Station Limited as lessee of the Glentanner Pastoral Lease.

Legal description of land concerned

  1. Pastoral lease land:
    Part Run 89 and Part Run 89A “Glentanner”, RS 41652, Pt Reserve 4044, Sections 1 - 6 SO 17788, Sections 1 – 5 SO 14682, Sections 1 – 3 SO 14832, Sections 1 – 6 SO 14833, Sections 3 and 4 SO 14834 and Section 7 SO 20250 situated in Mueller, Tasman, Jollie, Pukaki and Gladstone Survey Districts being all the land described in identifier CB30F/683 comprising 4047.9312 hectares
  2. Conservation area:
    Part RS 41651 SO 17101 Pukaki Survey District comprising 87.0425 hectares
  3. Unused Crown Land:
    Part Runs 89 and 89A situated in Blocks XVII & XVIII Mueller and Blocks I, II, III, V, VI, VII, IX, X & XI Tasman Survey Districts comprising 8870 hectares.

General description of proposal

1.1 Approximately 268 hectares to be restored to full Crown ownership and control as conservation area under section 35(2)(a)(i) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998.

1.2 Approximately 440 hectares to be designated as land to be restored to Crown control as a scenic reserve under section 35(2)(b)(ii) and section 36(1)(a) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 for the purposes of a scenic reserve subject to a concession to Glentanner Park (Mt Cook) Limited to conduct tourism activities, commercial filming and photography.

1.3 Approximately 8750 hectares to be designated as land to be restored to or retained in Crown control under section 35(2)(b)(i) and section 36(1)(a) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 as conservation area, subject to a concession to Glentanner Park (Mt Cook) Limited to conduct tourism activities, commercial filming and photography.

1.4 Approximately 25 hectares to remain conservation area under section 37(1)(a) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998.

1.5 Approximately 62 hectares to be disposed of to Glentanner Station Limited by way of exchange with other land designated by the proposal under the Conservation Act 1987, under section 37(1)(c) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 subject to the continuation in force of Deed of Easement 368176.

1.6 Approximately 1603 hectares to be designated as land to be disposed of by freehold disposal to the Holder (Glentanner Station Limited) under section 35(3) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 and subject to the continuation in force of Deed of Easement 30F/682.

1.7 Approximately 1657 hectares approximately to be designated as land to be disposed of by freehold disposal to the Holder (Glentanner Station Limited) under section 35(3) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 subject to a Conservation Covenant under sections 40(1)(b) and 40(2)(a) Crown Pastoral Land Act.

1.8 Approximately 200 hectares to be designated as land to be disposed of by freehold disposal to the Holder (Glentanner Station Limited) under section 35(3) Crown Pastoral Land Act and subject to a Conservation Covenant under sections 40(1)(b) and 40(2)(a) Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998.

Any person wishing to inspect the property is advised to contact the Commissioner’s contractor in the first instance at the above address.

Any person or organisation may send a written submission on the above proposal to The Commissioner of Crown Lands C/- Darroch at the above address. All submissions are being collected and held by LINZ either directly or through its agents or contractors.
