Carry Out Discretionary Activities on Pastoral Land
Pastoral leaseholders require consent from LINZ to carry out certain activities on Crown pastoral land.
These discretionary activities may include general farm maintenance such as burning vegetation, clearing scrub or tracking a path or road. You can apply here for a "discretionary action" consent. You can read the Applying for a Discretionary Action Consent Fact Sheet (pdf 150KB).
Download and print out a request for consent form from the following list of activities and post to LINZ Pastoral Unit (see Crown property contacts).

Consent for minor activities
All activites under sections 15 and 16 of the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 require written consent from the Commissioner of Crown Lands (the Commissioner). However, the Comissioner has granted consent to all leaseholders and licencees to undertake "minor activities", such as using a handheld shovel or spade. The consent also extends to activities undertaken within a fenced in area around the homestead located on the pastoral lease, such as tree felling or sowing seed.
