In July 2005, a panel of valuers was commissioned to review pastoral lease rent valuation methodologies associated with pastoral lands. The final valuers report and the final Government response were released on 15 November 2007.

The Government decided to exclude some properties from tenure review because they have significant landscape (including lakesides) or biodiversity values. [This policy was rescinded in August 2009. Find out more about the 2009 strategic direction for Crown pastoral land]
