Accredited private service providers are engaged by client agencies to carry out a range of Crown property work on behalf of LINZ. Here you can find out more about accreditation or apply for accreditation. You can also find an accredited supplier on LINZ's database. If you are accredited you can also search the ELFI database to obtain Crown property records.
Purpose of accreditation
The purpose of accreditation is to ensure that:
- risk to the Crown is minimised, and
- that LINZ staff can reliably exercise and discharge their statutory functions in respect to certain property matters.
Work carried out by these service providers for LINZ must meet minimum standards as detailed in the Crown property standards & guidelines. The standards set out the requirements for the acquisition, management, and disposal of Crown property under a number of statutes.
These include the Public Works Act 1981 and New Zealand Railways Corporation Restructuring Act 1990 and other associated legislation where either the Minister of Land Information or the Chief Executive of LINZ holds certain statutory powers. Apply for accreditation
LINZ accredits providers who have been appropriately evaluated. A party or person can seek to be accredited in various categories of Crown property work.

LINZ maintains a database of suppliers and staff who have been accredited in the listed Crown property categories. You can view a list of suppliers sorted by:
ELFI database
The LINZ ELFI database is a Crown property file database available to:
- accredited suppliers and their "nominated person" (staff)
- researchers approved by LINZ.
