Exciting Changes at LINZ
LINZ has made some changes to its Specialist Processing and Data Management team, dividing it into three new teams – National Geodetic Office, National Topographic Office and the National Hydrographic Authority.
These changes give more prominence to the specialised technical nature of the teams and allow them to have a greater say in the future direction of LINZ within these specialised fields.
LINZ Chief Geodesist, Graeme Blick, now heads the National Geodetic Office.
One of the first functions of the new geodetic group will be to develop and articulate a 10-year strategy for the development of geodetic services in New Zealand. To assist us in this process, we are researching who our geodetic customers are and their level of satisfaction with LINZ services. The research will focus on:
- adding to our knowledge from previous research on the current market for spatial information
- describing the market’s satisfaction with LINZ’s current geodetic product offering, and
- identifying areas that would benefit from enhancements to the current product offering, based on customer feedback.
