New Zealand Geospatial Metadata Standard (Archived)

The ANZLIC Metadata Profile has replaced the New Zealand Geospatial Metadata Standard (NZGMS) as the recommended e-GIF geospatial metadata standard.

The NZGMS is no longer supported but its documentation is still available below for historical purposes.

The NZGMS v1.2 is in two parts:

• Part one: Revised NZ Geospatial Metadata Profile v1.2 (June 2004) (PDF 1.5MB)
• Part two: Guidelines to using the NZGMS v1.2 (June 2004) (PDF 1.9MB)

Also available for download are a change control of changes made between prior versions and an XML schema definition that describes the NZGMS:

Two versions of XML schemas for each metadata profile have been formulated, Conformance 1 and Conformance 2. Also available are the relevant codelists. These downloads are available separately or as a bulk set.

  Includes only the elements prescribed for each profile.
• Conformance 2 schemas (zip 17KB)
  Includes other ISO 19115 metadata elements identified as "optional" or "conditional" in ISO 19115 but not included in the profiles.
