Karapiro work completed

Hornwort control on Lake Karapiro was completed this morning.
The spray operation went off without a hitch after conditions settled over the weekend, allowing a helicopter to begin spraying the introduced aquatic weed yesterday at a number of sites on the lake.
A second spraying operation is planned for September 2007. Public notices advising when this work is due will be placed with local media.
Land Information New Zealand thanks Lake Karapiro recreational users and the local community for their cooperation while this work was carried out.
