New Edition of the New Zealand Nautical Almanac Released

The New Zealand Nautical Almanac 2009/10 has been released today. This new edition covers the period from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010, and is available through chart retailers.

Included in the 2009/10 edition are the updated Annual Notices to Mariners (ANTM), tidal predictions, the New Zealand Light List, and data for the rising and setting of the sun, moon, and planets for New Zealand.

Mariners should note that the following sections have been significantly revised:

1. ANTM, Notice 1: New Zealand Charting and Notices to Mariners
2. ANTM, Notice 4: Search and Rescue Information and Procedures
3. ANTM, Notice 4C: Radio Distress Calling
4. ANTM, Notice 5: Firing Practice Exercise and Submarine Safe Bottoming Areas
5. ANTM, Notice 9: Maritime Safety Information.

Note that the 2008/09 edition of the New Zealand Nautical Almanac is now cancelled.
