Shallow Survey Conference 2012
20-24 February 2012
The 6th International Conference on High Resolution Surveys in Shallow Waters comes to Wellington for the first time in February 2012. Held at Te Papa on Wellington's stunning waterfront, this highly anticipated event explores the latest developments in high resolution shallow water surveys including advancements in technology, processing and visualisation.
LINZ is the principal agency organising the conference, collaborating closely with GNS Science and National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA). Held every 2-3 years, it is a great honour and privilege to host such a prestigious event. Confidently leading this project is the Hydrographic team spearheaded by Andrea McDonald and Adam Greenland. They have confirmed the conference themes including:
- Very large data volumes
- Ports and harbours
- Small Island developing States
- Spatial Data Infrastructure
- Marine conservation and habitat.
A technical programme is under development and will outline daily presentations and activities. The programme will include the delivery of a Common Dataset, acquired locally in Wellington Harbour.
