Reporting a Hazard to Navigation - H Note

Mariners are requested to advise the New Zealand Hydrographic Authority at LINZ of the discovery of new or suspected dangers to navigation, or shortcomings in charts or publications. The preferred format for advising LINZ is the Hydrographic Note, commonly referred to as an H Note.

Ways to submit a hydrographic note

  1. Complete the online H Note form below and submit electronically to LINZ. Your information will be sent directly to the New Zealand Hydrographic Authority. Mandatory fields are indicated by an asterisk *.
  2. Open a printable version of the form (pdf 56KB) and fax to LINZ on +64 4 460 0161.
