A former teacher, Kerry Marshall worked in Canada and Scotland for some time before returning to Nelson. He is currently the Mayor of Nelson City. He was the first Mayor of Tasman District Council and a past President of Local Government New Zealand and more recently, a Local Government Commissioner. He has his own company which specialises in conference/seminar facilitation and mediation. Kerry is also currently the Chair of I-Site New Zealand Visitor Information Network and is a member of the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology Board.
Previously Kerry was the Presiding Member of the NZ Lotteries Commission and was a past Chair of the NZ Conservation Authority.
In this spare time Kerry chairs the Montana World of Wearable Art Development Trust and the Tasman Environment Trust. Kerry’s personal interests include family, tramping and yachting.
