Hillary Ridge

Status

  • South Ridge on Aoraki / Mount Cook renamed to Hillary Ridge in honour of the late Sir Edmund Hillary, who was one the a party of four to first climb the ridge in 1948.
  • The name proposal was open for submissions over September, October and November 2010.

Description

Hillary Ridge was formerly known as South Ridge and extends south from Low Peak to Endeavour Col on Aoraki / Mount Cook.
