Description

Ōkārito - coastal settlement 18 km due north of Franz Josef Glacier/Waiau township. Topo50 map BW15 - Okarito, GR 696 105.

Ōkārito Lagoon - large estuarine lagoon north of Ōkārito (proposed spelling) settlement. Topo50 maps BW15 - Okarito, and BW16 – Whataroa, GR 740 142.

Ōkārito River - draining from both Lake Mapourika and Lake Wahapo, flowing north into and through Ōkārito Lagoon (proposed spelling), its mouth exiting north of Ōkārito (proposed spelling) settlement. Topo50 map BW16 – Whataroa, source: GR 744 029, and BW15 – Okarito, mouth: GR 694 108.
