Description & location
Located at the northern end of Eastbourne, topographic map 260-R27,R28&Pt.Q27-Wellington, GR 698 925. Bounded by Sorrento Bay at the north and York Bay at the south, with the suburb of Lowry Bay to the east.
Whiorau means the place of many blue duck (whio).
