Notice of Intention to Assign or Alter Place Names
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new place names or alter existing place names, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objection to the proposed new or altered place names may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the New Zealand Geographic Board, care of Land Information New Zealand, Private Box 5501, Wellington, within a period of three months from the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.

15 May 2006Notice of the Decision of the Minister for Land Information re. the Assigning of Place Names |
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notices were given on 25 March 2004 and 3 March 2005 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign the names Maioro Sands and Gunsight Pass.
Objections were received to these proposed names and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
I hereby declare that it is my decision that the names of these places shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, as described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that this decision took effect on 19th June 2006 .
