Notice of the Decision of the Minister for Land Information re the Assigning of Place Names
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new place names or alter existing place names, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Objection to the proposed new or altered place names may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the New Zealand Geographic Board, care of Land Information New Zealand, Private Box 5501, Wellington, within a period of three months from the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.

North Auckland Land District
Flat Bush
Proposed new locality/town in Manukau City, generally bounded west by East Tamaki and Otara, north by East Tamaki Heights, east by low lying catchment hills, and south by Totara Heights - see www.manukau.govt.nz/default.aspx?id=2818. Topographic map 260-R11 Auckland, GR 808 688. Re-establishing and re-positioning Flat Bush over this area, to which it has been historically applied.

Notice of the Decision of the Minister for Land Information re. the Assigning of Place Names
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notices were given on 22 June 2006 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign the place names Dragon Teeth Shoals, Crater Bay, Kaharoa Point and Little Bear Bay.
An objection was received to these proposed place names and was dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
I hereby declare that it is my decision to uphold the objection to these proposed place names and that this decision took effect on 6 December 2006. I note that, pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign original Māori place names for these same features, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the said Schedule.
Further objection to this proposed assigning of the original Māori place names may be given in writing, setting out the grounds for objection, to the Secretary of the New Zealand Geographic Board, care of Land Information New Zealand, Private Box 5501, Wellington, within a period of three months from the date of the New Zealand Gazette containing this notice.
