Notice of Final Decisions to Assign or Alter Place Names
Pursuant to section 15 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the final decisions of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new or alter existing place names, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the places described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that such decisions take effect on 16 November 2008.

Notice of the Decisions of the Minister for Land Information on Altering Place Names
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on 15 May 2008 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa, to alter place names, proposed as Waireinga Falls and Rangitoto ki te Tonga/D'Urville Island. Objections were received to these proposed names and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.
I hereby declare my decisions, made on 23 September 2008, are that the names of these places shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, as described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that these decisions take effect on 16 November 2008.
