This guideline has been created to provide guidance to territorial authorities and retirement village developers on assigning addresses in retirement villages.

An address should help people easily locate a particular dwelling or other building of interest (such as a hall, pool or gym) in a retirement village. This guideline has been developed to ensure each address within a retirement village can be readily identified and located and is unambiguous, by aligning with the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4819:2011 Rural and urban addressing (standard).
