Summary

The Surveyor-General has published a guideline to assist licensed cadastral surveyors with the interpretation of the Rules for Cadastral Survey (Canterbury Earthquake) 2010 (RCSCE2010) when re‑establishing boundary points and boundaries affected by movement due to the Canterbury earthquake.

Its purpose is to:

  • supplement the RCSCE2010, the Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010, the Cadastral Survey Act 2002, relevant Surveyor-General's rulings and other legislation relating to cadastral surveys, and
  • facilitate correct interpretation of the Rules.

Note:
In this version of the Guideline:

  • information has been added relating to the definition of, the connection to, and the capture in Landonline of unproven marks and reporting on these marks
  • advice relating to the interpretation of rule 6 of the RCSCE2010 for Category Five boundaries has been expanded 
  • the expiry date has been extended to the date of expiry of the RCSCE2010.
