Summary
The period for submissions on the proposed Surveyor-General’s Rules 2008 closed on 1 March 2008
Sixty two public submissions were received from a range of groups and individuals interested in cadastral surveying.
Submissions ranged from improvements to wording and definitions to major changes in the requirements of the proposed Rules. The major areas of interest related to:
- boundary marking,
- accuracy tolerance,
- orientation,
- witness marks and permanent reference marks,
- redefinition surveys,
- CSD plan, and
- certification.
All submissions will now be considered by the expert committee responsible for reviewing the draft. The committee will then make recommendations to the Surveyor-General on the shape of the final Rules, taking into account the feedback received.
