Standard for integration & provision of cadastral survey data
- Regulatory Area: Cadastral
- Type: Standards
- Status: Interim
- Document Number : 10003
- Published: 15 September 2009
Summary
This standard will come into effect at the same time as the Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010, which is planned for May 2010 [actual date to be confirmed].
Surveyors carrying out cadastral surveys are required to locate or re-establish existing boundaries or rights before determining new boundaries and rights. To do this, surveyors need to be able to readily access information from the cadastre. Cadastral survey data is also needed for purposes other than cadastral surveys.
This standard describes the requirements for
- integrating cadastral surveys into the cadastre, including topological, spatial relationship, accuracy, and timeliness requirements
- the retention and maintenance of cadastral survey records
- recording cadastral actions and the status of parcels in the cadastre
- providing access to cadastral survey data particularly for the purpose of locating and defining cadastral boundaries and carrying out audits.
This standard is intended for use by LINZ staff acting for the Chief Executive under s 9 of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002.
