Previous Versions of the Rules
The following versions of the Rules for Cadastral Survey have previously been made under authority of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002. The current Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010 came into effect on 24 May 2010.
Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/2
The Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/2 came into effect on 29 October 2002, replacing the 2002/1 Rules, and were superseded on 24 May 2010 by the Rules for Cadastral Survey 2010.
The main changes in the 2002/2 Rules made provision for digital lodgement of cadastral survey datasets into Landonline. The changes are explained in more detail in the document Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002-2 Explanation of Changes (PDF 67KB).
The following rulings were made in conjunction with the 2002/2 Rules and were superseded with them.
- LINZR10300 2007/1 - Representation of movable marginal strips in cadastral survey datasets
- 2005/4 - Systematic Adjustment
- 2005/3 - Height Datum
- 2005/2 - Dispensation from Boundary Monumentation
- 2005/1 - Dispensation to use Parcel Diagrams
- 2004/1 - Bearings to be terms of Official Survey Projection and Geodetic Datum.
Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/1
The Surveyor-General's Rules for Cadastral Survey 2002/1 came into effect on 1 June 2002. They incorporated (and superseded) the Survey Regulations 1998 plus Sections 57, 58 and 60 of the Survey Act 1986.
The 2002/1 Rules were based on the Survey Regulations 1998 and were published as a transitional measure pursuant to Section 50 of the Cadastral Survey Act 2002 until an updated set of rules were published under Section 49(1) – the 2002/2 version.
