- When will the Landonline release date be confirmed?
- Release 3.4 will be confirmed in early April 2010.
- Are software providers on board, and
will they also be providing accuracy validation tests etc?
- LINZ is liaising with the main software developers, particularly about the LandXML interface.
You will need to talk to the vendors about what functionality they provide.
- The pre-validation report is truncated (ie I only get the first 20 failures) can I get the full report?
- The pre-validation report will be reviewed to improve usability that will cover the inclusion of additional marks.
- Will Landonline be upgraded to better accept long easements?
- Any changes to the capture of easements will be undertaken as part of Landonline general improvement process.
- Will the format of error / failure reports change?
- The pre-validation report will be reviewed to improve usability.
- Will Landonline automatically assign a class of survey or will the surveyor need to select it?
- Surveyors will need to select the appropriate class just as they do now.
- Will Landonline refer to the new parcel types as “Balance” or “Residue”?
- This is being considered and the final decision will be communicated to customers.
- Can we use the appellation “Area” now?
- Yes, as long as the applicable term is already in Landonline, eg the parcel type “Area” is available to be used now, but “PRM” is not available yet.
- We don’t need to deal with previously dimensioned easements. What if they have not been captured in Landonline? The Surveyor-General has suggested that perhaps easements could be plan graphics.
- How easements will be managed will be dealt with under a separate project.
- Will Landonline change to allow depiction of 3D parcels, ie the height lines on parcels?
- No. Landonline is 2D, so won’t change in the short-term.
- Are compiled and computed plans still able to be used?
- Yes, where they meet the Rules requirements. Note that the Rules do not define Computed and Compiled CSDs although these categories may still appear in Landonline to enable the plans to be submitted into Landonline.
- Will unit plans, flats plans, strata plans still be Plan Graphics?
- Yes.
- Can we use new rule terminology, survey classes and symbols two weeks before the commencement of the new Rules?
- No. You will not be able to capture using the new terminology and symbols before the new version is released.
- Will SO CSDs of survey data attract a fee (eg off-setting)?
- This is yet to be determined. We will advise surveyors as part of the transition process.
- Will Landonline show which observations are in error or will surveyors need to learn SNAP or other least squares packages.
- Landonline will verify that limits have been met in the pre-validation report. Experience in least squares adjustments will help surveyors isolate errors.
