Guidelines
New guidelines will be published prior to the new Rules coming into effect and will explain the content of the new Rules, the relationships between related rules, and will provide interpretation of the Rules, such as their applicability in certain situations.
Complying in advance
Surveys will need to be undertaken in terms of the new Rules if these surveys might be lodged after the commencement date of the new Rules. From this date, changes to Landonline will mean that only surveys complying with the new Rules can be lodged.
Any surveys that will be completed and submitted before the new Rules come into effect can continue to be carried out in terms of the current 2002 Rules.
The introduction document provided above outlines steps surveyors can take in situations where it is uncertain if a survey may be completed before or after the new Rules come into effect. These steps allow surveyors to comply as best as possible with both sets of Rules and help minimise the number of changes required to affected cadastral survey datasets.
