Researching land records

Property records are used for researching land a family member may have owned in the past, for other genealogical purposes or for Treaty of Waitangi research. Most land records are held on the electronic database called Landonline (more about Landonline), but LINZ also manages paper copies of historic land records.

To find a land record, you may need help with land record research.
