Instruments
An instrument is a legal document such as a transfer of ownership, a mortgage or an easement. For example, a transfer of ownership instrument lists the:
- seller's name
- buyer's name
- dates, etc.
Order an instrument
You can order a copy of an instrument if you have its reference number, including any prefix. You can find the reference number (eg "Transfer 12345" for a transfer instrument) on a title (computer register). Other property record providers can help with more complicated searches and historical research.
Order a copy
You can order a copy of a land record or request an appointment to view records either online or by completing a printable order form and posting or faxing it to us.
