Summary
Avulsion occurs when a non-navigable river or stream has completely or partially dried up, or has changed course, by a process or event that was sudden and perceptible in its progress. When this occurs, a person claiming ownership may apply to the Registrar-General of Land to have a computer register issued for the land that was formerly under water.
This guideline provides guidance for the making of applications for land formerly under water and the processing of those applications.
