Timing
- When will the Act and Regulations come into force?
- The Unit Titles Act 2010 was passed on 19 April 2010 and the Unit Title Regulations 2011 were made on 9 May 2011. Both the Act and the Regulations come into force on 20 June 2011.
- I’ve currently got a complex application in my Landonline workspace, but I’m not sure if I’ll get the final instruments prepared before the Act comes into force. Even if I do, I’m concerned that a rejection might mean I have to lodge it after the regime comes into effect. Will I have to re-do it?
- Customers will find themselves having to prepare documentation prior to the new legislation coming into force without knowing whether that documentation will be lodged before or after that date. LINZ will be providing guidance closer to the time on how transitional issues like this may be dealt with.
