Te Puna Korero Whenua Māori - Access to Māori Land Records

Searching for information about Māori land often requires access to a number of databases, pamphlets, websites and other resource material held by various agencies. The Māori Land Court holds the majority of Māori land records (some of which are registered with LINZ).

If you are searching for specific Māori land records, we suggest that you contact the Māori Land Court in the first instance.

If the description of the land you are searching contains a Māori Block name as part of the description, then search Te Puni Kokiri's Māori Land Information Base or historic Māori Land Court records first.

If the description of the land you are searching does not contain a Māori block name then, you can contact us.

If you have obtained information from the Māori Land Court and have been referred to LINZ, you can order a copy of a land record.
