LINZ Delivers Presentations at NZIS Conference
At the annual New Zealand Institute of Surveyors (NZIS) Conference, held recently in Napier, LINZ delivered five presentations on a range of issues affecting New Zealand surveying.
Surveyor-General Don Grant presented an update on the new Rules for Cadastral Surveying, which is nearing the end of the review process. The presentation addressed the key decisions that have been made in response to the submissions.
Sharon Cottrell, General Manager Customer Services, and Don also advised the conference that LINZ was working with the NZIS to develop an integrated strategy for the cadastral survey market.
“The conference was an excellent opportunity for LINZ to highlight the value of our relationship with the NZIS and its members,” says Sharon. “Without the input of surveyors we could not complete our work successfully.”
Other LINZ presentations included an update on the new Topo50 and Topo250 map series; and technical presentations on upgrading the spatial accuracy of the cadastre and the use of PositioNZ for real-time kinematic (RTK) applications.
