Land Title Processing Timeliness Standards

30 July 2009

Land Information New Zealand has recently improved its timeliness standards for processing land title transactions. Previously LINZ committed to processing 95 percent within 15 working days, now the standard it has set for itself is 90 percent within 10 working days (following lodgement). This timeliness standard now aligns with the processing standard for cadastral survey datasets.

The improvement in processing times comes following the mandatory requirement for land title transactions to be lodged electronically.

"Electronic lodgement enables LINZ processing staff to focus on the checks they need to perform, which has allowed us to quicken our turnaround times," says National Processing Manager Lindsay Meehan.

"We're pleased to be able to adjust our timeliness standard accordingly, and give customers greater certainty about how long their title transaction is likely to take," says Lindsay.
