LINZ Seeks Industry Feedback on Bulk Data Product Development

16 February 2010

LINZ has launched an online questionnaire to gather industry feedback on the development of its survey and title bulk data products and services.

As well as meeting its statutory obligations in regard to providing land data, LINZ wants to explore opportunities to unlock value in its geospatial data, support the development of New Zealand’s geospatial sector and contribute more to the economy. LINZ is working with industry and the public sector (both central and local government) to achieve better outcomes in this area.

LINZ has been providing national survey and title information from its Landonline system, in a bulk data format, for about 10 years. Some subscriber organisations use the data internally, while others rework the data and provide it to their clients.

LINZ has commissioned an independent research company, Research New Zealand, to survey customers on its bulk data products. Building on previous research, Research New Zealand has designed a questionnaire that can be completed, online, in 15 minutes.

Findings from the questionnaire will be reported to LINZ in a way that ensures respondents are not personally identified. Research New Zealand works in strict accordance with the Code of Practice of the Market Research Society of New Zealand and the Privacy Act 1993.

The questionnaire will be open until midnight on 5 March 2010.

Those who are not emailed direct with an invitation to complete the questionnaire may register for the survey online.
