New Fees and Charges Come into Effect Today
LINZ has reviewed the fees and charges for its survey and title products and services and new fees come into effect today, after being Gazetted on 6 May 2010.
Survey and title fees have remained static since September 2007 when they were deliberately set below cost recovery to reduce a Memorandum Account surplus. Since then, changes in the property market have had a significant impact upon transaction levels necessitating a review of the Fees structure. Due to this volatililty, LINZ will monitor lodgement trends, and review the situation as necessary.
LINZ has consulted with the New Zealand Law Society, the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, and the Institute of Cadastral Surveyors on this fees review.
The new fees and charges are set in regulation: Land Transfer Amendment Regulations 2010, Land Information New Zealand (Fees and Charges) Amendment Regulations 2010 and the Cadastral Survey (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2010.
Read the fees and charges information, including the new rates for land record order fees.
