100% e-lodgement Project on Track; Software Releases Merged
The Landonline 100% e-lodgement programme continues to track toward its planned completion later this year.
"The programme is going fantastically well," says Sharon Cottrell, General Manager Customer Services.
The decision to merge two of the five planned software releases designed to phase in the numerous types of transactions conveyancers lodge in Landonline will not affect the programme's target.
"Release 3.0 will continue as planned; but Releases 3.1 and 3.2 are to be merged," Sharon says.
"Release 3.0 is a big release, and combined with our commitment to deliver quality releases, testing is taking longer than expected. This has meant that development of the following releases has been delayed.
"While customers may be a bit disappointed that functionality like Transmissions, Change of Name and Variations of Mortgage will be delayed two months, they'll have longer to familiarise themselves with the changes that they'll see in Release 3.0 before the next release. Customers will also receive training on the New Titles and Easements process which was not originally planned."
LINZ discussed the change with the NZLS Property Law Section's Land Titles Committee and it supports the change.
"This year is proving to be a busy one with presentations and workshops being held around New Zealand for both Releases 3.0 and 3.1. We're looking forward to seeing customers there," says Sharon.
About the 100% e-lodgement programme
In February 2006, the Government announced that all survey and land title transactions in Landonline will be lodged electronically from 2008. Replacing the labour intensive paper-based system is in keeping with New Zealand's E-Government Strategy for improved delivery of services and enabling greater access to information.
