Nine Submissions Received on Draft Rating Valuation Rules

26 April 2008

Nine submissions were received from groups and individuals representing local government, members of the public, valuers, and farming interests.

The submissions can be grouped into two main themes:

  • submissions about the objections process and
  • submissions about the revaluation process.

There were also individual comments made about other items, including:

  • quality assurance by councils
  • property inspections
  • the rating system in general
  • rural rating and
  • the way network utilities are valued.

All submissions are now being considered by the expert committee responsible for reviewing the draft. The committee will then produce the final version of the proposed Rules, which the Valuer-General will publish.
