A customised coaching programme, The First 90 Days in Government, forms part of induction for new managers. It gives managers a real opportunity to learn about Toitū Te Whenua, their new role and what is expected of them.

Free flu vaccinations are offered to all staff at the start of winter, and we provide corporate membership to the Southern Cross HealthCare scheme. Benefits of joining the scheme include a waiver of the usual 90-day no-claim period and discounted premiums.

Social events and networking

Toitū Te Whenua was established as a government department in 1996 to provide New Zealand's authoritative land and seabed information, but our whakapapa/heritage goes back more than 160 years.
Much of the work Toitū Te Whenua is responsible for now was formerly carried out by the Department of Lands and Survey, which was set up in 1857. As the "one stop shop" for government information about land, Toitū Te Whenua maintains a close connection with a range of government agencies.
