This article contains information on splitting Irregular Boundaries.

If a new dataset is only defining non-primary parcels, such as easements or covenants, and these new parcels end at an irregular boundary, you need to split the irregular boundary so that the new nodes can be linked into the parcel topology. This request will need to be raised as an Exception request through Landonline.

When an Exception request is raised, you must advise LINZ of the newly captured mark where the existing line should be split. We will split the line and, if necessary, move the node to be exactly under the captured mark quoted in the Exception request.
