This article contains information on splitting Irregular Boundaries.
If a new dataset is only defining non-primary parcels, such as easements or covenants, and these new parcels end at an irregular boundary, you need to split the irregular boundary so that the new nodes can be linked into the parcel topology.
How do I split an irregular boundary?
- Call 0800 ONLINE (0800 665 463) and select option 1, then option 2.
- One of our e-survey Customer Support Agents (CSA) will make a preliminary assessment of the situation. If the line split appears to be straightforward, your call will be handled by one of our Cadastral Topology and Geometry (CTG) trained CSAs who will complete the split while you wait.
- If the line split appears to be a complex task or there are multiple splits to be completed, the CSA will use the Exception Process (see related content below) to advise the best solution.
- If an Exception request is raised, you must advise LINZ of the newly captured mark where the existing line should be split. We will split the line and, if necessary, move the node to be exactly under the captured mark quoted in the Exception request.
