The LINZ Annual Report covers our performance over the last financial year (1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016), what we plan to achieve in the future and how we’re making a difference to New Zealand.
For the first time we’ve also included our Strategic Intentions (formerly known as the Statement of Intent), which set out our high-level objectives for the next four years and describe how we carry out our functions.
Our work is driven by a long-term strategic goal is to increase the value created through the use of location information tenfold over the next 10 years.
For the first time the New Zealand Geographic Board’s (NZGB) Annual Report has been produced in Māori and English. As a bilingual document it signals the value that the NZGB places on Māori place naming. It also reflects important NZGB’s relationships with Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, Te Puni Kōkiri and the Office of Treaty Settlements, who are all involved in making decisions on place names.
