The Official Information Act response provides a response letter and email chain between Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) and Colliers about terminating the leases due to earthquake prone nature of the buildings.
The OIA response provides a response letter to the request:
- A copy of the letter or email from LINZ to Colliers instructing Colliers to issue a ‘termination of lease’ on the property 8-12 Amohia St, Paraparaumu and/or 3 Kapiti Road, Paraparaumu.
- The total number of buildings deemed an earthquake risk under the care and management from LINZ.
- The total number of buildings deemed an earthquake risk that have had their leases terminated that are under LINZ care and management.
The email chain discussing terminating the lease due to the earthquake prone nature of the buildings, and the buildings being flagged for demolition, was provided.
The number of properties flagged as an earthquake hazard that are managed by LINZ (31), is provided in the response letter. LINZ does not record in a searchable database where a lease is terminated or expires. There were no documents to provide, and the request was refused under 18(g) of the Official Information Act.
