The standard sets out registration requirements, and guidance material covering matters that are additional to the Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act 2016.
The Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act 2016 came into force on the 7 April 2016, and repealed the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011. The Act focuses on regeneration of Greater Christchurch, and reflects a shift from emergency response.
This standard ensures that:
- legal instruments received by LINZ acquiring and dealing with land under the Act, and charging land pursuant to the Act, are dealt with and recorded efficiently and correctly; and
- plans are deposited, and new Computer Registers issued, in line with the Act - to aid the Greater Christchurch regeneration, while protecting the interests of adjoining owners.
